Kogi PDP to Bello: Stop blame game

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has told the Governor Yahaya Bello-led government to stop the “blame game” and pay the accumulated salaries owed civil servants in the state.

In a statement made available to NewsTimes by its Director of Research and Documentation, Dickson Achadu, in Lokoja, yesterday, said it was unjustifiable that the governor and his men had resorted to blaming past PDP governors as being responsible for their inability to pay workers.

The PDP alleged that the recent attempt by the governor’s spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo, to justify the non-payment of salaries in the state on the excuse of servicing inherited debts “only ended up playing the ostrich.”

“First, it was ghost workers that over bloated the wage bill, then began the longest screening and staff verification exercise in the history of any people and now inherited debts!” the statement read in part.
