2019: Ex-Ogun governor appointed as Atiku’s campaign DG

Former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Former Vice President Atiku Abubarkar Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The ex-VP is seeking the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take another shot at the presidency in the 2019 general elections.

A statement on Monday issued by Atiku’s Media Office said Daniel’s experience both in politics and the private sector would have bearing on his presidential campaign, adding that other appointments into the campaign organisation would be announced in due course.

“Daniel was a two-term governor of Ogun State from 2003 to 2011 with extensive network within the PDP. Before his election as governor in 2003, OGD as he is better known was the Chief Executive Officer of a leading engineering company in the country,” the statement said.
